Top 100 Horror Movies From the GOAT Decade, 1980's.
Re: Top 100 Horror Movies From the GOAT Decade, 1980's.
I mentioned I didn't love Scanners the first time I saw it, but owe it a rewatch, and I don't own it. I can get the old DVD for like 4 or 5 bucks used... but I want this one. Only problem is I'd have to pay 20+ dollars for it. :p
Also, it comes with DVD and Blu-ray in the case, but I can't tell if the case is shaped like a DVD or blu ray case. Looks like DVD to me. Can anyone confirm? better yet, does anyone own this one?

Has nobody seen Deadly Blessing (1981)? Directed by Wes Craven, and an early 20's Sharon Stone is in it. *buys*
Yesterday bought:
The Blob (1988)
The House by the Cemetery (1981)
Night of the Comet (1984) blu-ray collector's edition
Sweet Sixteen (1983)
Today bought: Prom Night II, III, IV and Deadly Blessing.

Imdb changed the year of release for Bride of Re-Animator from 1990 to 1989. Wiki says late 1990.
Which is it? Because it's making my 80s list if it counts.

I watched Deadly Blessing for a Challenge one year what I mostly remember is how stunning Sharon Stone looked.Jason wrote:Has nobody seen Deadly Blessing (1981)? Directed by Wes Craven, and an early 20's Sharon Stone is in it. *buys*

I've also got Bride of Re-Animator on my list.

You've never seen?zombie wrote:i need to watch bride of re-animator.
I'm counting it as 1990. I don't trust imdb. They've changed so many release dates. Wiki says Bride got a major release in late 1990. I'm going with that. Leaving it off the 80s list.

Re: Top 100 Horror Movies From the GOAT Decade, 1980's.
no, i haven't seen it yet unfortunately.
looks like the 89 date is just for festival circuit stuff. the vhs release was 1990, so that's what i'd go with.

I like the 3rd Re-animator better than Bride but it's been a long time since I've seen bride.

I'm not counting Aliens, The 'Burbs, Clue or Predator for my list.

I'm making adjustments almost daily. Might be my favorite all-time list.

Forgot how much I love The Children so that caused a big shuffle of the list.

Re: Top 100 Horror Movies From the GOAT Decade, 1980's.
I've got the top ten down, but even then it kind of feels shaky.

Not that Re-Animator is very comparable with The Evil Dead franchise, but the transition from Re-Animator to Bride felt a lot like the transition from The Evil Dead to Evil Dead II.zombie wrote:no, i haven't seen it yet unfortunately.

I just caved and bought the Scanners criterion collection version from the video above, and also bought the out of print version of Possession (1981)
Do you even remember Re-Animator, Tigg?
